Steven Anderson is not afraid to admit that this doctrine is novel. Baptists haven’t preached this before, but now it is core New IFB doctrine. Here is the Sermon that started it all!

Not to take either side of the argument, but Anderson’s sermon is not a “novel” doctrine. I mean, the Old Testament Law of Moses did not establish police, but they did establish judges and priests (Deuteronomy 1 and Numbers 8). Owning weapons is also Biblical (Exodus 22:2 and Luke 22:36). When America was founded, there was no full-time police, and the first police department established was the Boston Police Department in 1838.
Adding onto my previous comment, I’m in no way defending Anderson, given his behavior (railing) and false doctrines. Dispensations do exist in the Bible, and their teaching that Jesus burned in Hell is a damnable heresy.
