Matt Powell preaches that Pronunciation of “Jesus” is a salvation issue

Matt Powell preached the following message, which pronounces that those who pronounce Jesus other than the “orthodox” English pronunciation are not saved. Powell seems to not realize that just like every other name, the name of Jesus is Anglicized into the English language. In fact, most of the names in the Bible are not pronounced the same way in English that those people actually pronounced their own names.

Powell’s position would be that those who speak languages other than English need to say “Jesus” (English pronunciation) or they are heretics. See the different language pronunciations of Jesus below: source.

English: Jesus

French: Jésus

German: Jesus

Swahilli: Jesus

Arabic: Isa

Greek: Ιησούς

Chinese (Simplified Han): 耶稣

Italian: Gesù

Japanese: イエス・キリスト

Korean: 예수

Russian: Иисус

Spanish: Jesús

Bulgarian: Исус

Czech: Ježíš

Dutch: Jezus

Estonian: Jeesus

Haitian Creole: Jezi

Hungarian: Jézus

Romanian: Isus

Thai: พระเยซู

Turkish: Isa

Here’ is Powell’s message clip:

Something else worth noting is that Ben “the Baptist” Knight mirrored this video to his channel, showing that he also believes this foolishness.

Which you have not put in this page but that’s fine 😃😄. I am actually friends with Matt Powell in Facebook (although I have NEVER EVER met the person in real life and I have never been to the church where he goes to because I don’t live in America) after watching much of his videos on Youtube and being subscribed to his channel.
