Adam Fannin’s Exit from the New IFB

In January of 2019, Donnie Romero, pastor of Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX., suddenly stepped down due to being caught with prostitutes and smoking marijuana. Romero’s Church had also started a “satellite church”, also called Stedfast Baptist Church, in Jacksonville, Florida. This church was being led by Adam Fannin, who was pastor in everything but name. (The New IFB thinks you must have two kids to call yourself a pastor, but it’s fine to be a pastor without meeting the biblical requirements, as long as you just call yourself “brother” or “preacher” and not “pastor”)

As soon as Romero stepped down, Steven Anderson announced that Jonathan Shelley was being installed as pastor at Stedfast Baptist Church. This meant that Shelley was alos over the congregation that Fannin had been leading (Stadfast Baptist Jacksonville).

Fannin complained that his congregation had been appointed a pastor without their input or vote. Due to this question, Jonathan Shelley kicked Adam Fannin out of the church, resulting in the Jacksonville congregation splitting, and making videos, some supporting Fannin, and others supporting Romero. Fannin has since started a split-off church with many of the former members of Stedfast Jacksonville, called “Law of Liberty Baptist Church”

Fannin now says that the New IFB, which he was actively pushing and promoting just weeks earlier, is a “cult” (see the video below)

This is quite a change for someone who previously said that Anderson was the “mouthpiece of God in America.”

Hmm, is a touchy story, but can we discover much damage that Satan is doing to the church of God. Today’s believers need more prayers to be able to overcome the activities of the works of darkness. May the Lord help us all!
