Steven Anderson wants a Theocracy in the USA

Steven Anderson is a walking contradication. On the one hand, he says people who are once saved are always saved. On the other hand, as soon as someone disagrees with him, he pronounces them unsaved. On the one hand he is extremely anti-calvinist. On the other hand, he yokes up with Calvinists.

Those who learned about Anderson a decade ago may remember one of the big things that propelled him into the national spotlight. He was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint, and refused to give information, and was shot with a taser as a result. He won in court against the charges levied against him. Anderson made a game of saying different things at checkpoints to play with the police. Anderson is against there being police and is a libertarian, seeming to be in favor of a small government. However, the contradiction is amazing in that he also simultaneously wants there to be a theocracy in the USA. In other words, he wants an established religion (Christianity, particularly the Baptist form) as the guide of the US legal code. This is of course another evidence that he isn’t really a Baptist. Baptists have always been against having the government compelling religion by force. But Anderson wants the Old Testament laws such as those against blasphemy to be enforced by the Feds. Strange, isn’t it? We all know what that has looked like for the last two millennia.

Anderson is not wrong that we can and should get moral direction from the Old Testament. But much of the OT law was God’s instruction for his theocracy. In the New Testement age there is no theocracy. We have churches and we have separate civil government. Though we should try to make our government legislate right, we should not allow it to enforce religion on us, because as soon as that happens, it won’t be our religion being forced, but some false doctrine. Yikes! We all know that Steven Anderson is not a stable man! He is very volatile!

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8 KJV) https://bible.com/bible/1/jas.1.8.KJV โค๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ•ฏโš”.
