It used to be that followers of Steven Anderson were just called “Andersonites.” But around early 2018, they begin to rally around the title of “New IFB”, and pretty soon were using it all the time.
However, the clear title made it easy for people to identify and call out the movement for the unbiblical qualities that it had. Anderson has said that he “Started the New IFB” (video below)
He’s given lengthy talks where he uses the title of New IFB:
But one of the criticisms as people have left the movement, is that they are being kicked out of a cult, or that there are cultish behaviors in the New IFB. So now it looks like Anderson is doing his best to drop the title.
After Manly Perry’s criticism of the New IFB title, Anderson has now stated that The New IFB does not exist. (video below)
“New IFB” was also not great for Anderson on YouTube. People searching that title were bound to be hit with many critical videos:
And with the whole “The New IFB” website disappearing, it looks like a rebrand, or an unbrand is in the works. And what a shame, they only got a wikipedia page back in June.
Another page we’ll continue to watch to see if the rebrand continues is the New IFB website ifbtube.com (current screenshot below uses “New IFB” name) :
