Pastor Steven Anderson preaches that Sodomites cannot be saved “Reprobate Doctrine”

One of the doctrines that is a distinctive of the new IFB movement is what they refer to as “the reprobate doctrine.” The doctrine starts out with the statement that there are some people who are so far gone that they will not get saved. Anderson’s error is not here – it is obvious that some people won’t get saved. They have had the opportunity to do so and have rejected it time and time again, and they never will come around. Anderson’s error is claiming to know who will or will not get saved. The New IFB puts every person who ever commits the sin of sodomy into this category of unsaveable. There are no ifs, ands, or buts. If a person ever commits sodomy, they cannot be saved. Because of this, nobody in the IFB movement cares about correcting those who are sodomites or witnessing to them. Instead, Anderson tells them that he hopes they get brain cancer. Roger Jimenez mourns that the Orlando Nightclub shooter didn’t finish the job and kill everyone else in the nightclub, saying “The tragedy is that more of them didn’t die.”

Anderson’s first message where he solidified this doctrine is found below. He identifies sodomites as all unable to be saved. At the 42 minute mark, He claims that temptation of homosexuality is not part of the sin nature. (i.e. that no sinner, unless reprobate, will desire to or will commit sodomy)

Anderson’s error is equating the sin of sodomy as mentioned in Romans 1 with being impossible to be saved. He also states at the 58 minute mark that all homosexuals are child molesters and rapists.

Anderson claims that he knows who it is that God will not save. Although there are those who will not receive Christ, we don’t know who they are, so it is our responsibility to preach to all. But Anderson refuses to do this, and instead prays for the death of those he considers to be reprobate.
