17 AUG Steven Anderson Preaches against Male Gynecologists Anderson has preached on this topic since the very beginning. In 2006, he posted an article on his website called “What’s Wrong with Male Gynecologists?” (Click on the title below to read it) Whats Wrong with Male Gynecologists? by Pastor Steven L Anderson, 2006 1. Is nudity before the opposite gender a sin? 2. Are male obstetricians or gynecologists condoned in the Bible? 3. Are male gynecologists professionals or perverts? “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” – Ephesians 5:11, 12 “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” – Revelation 3:18 “So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.” – Proverbs 6:29 1. Is nudity before the opposite gender a sin? We are living in a day when the overwhelming majority of Christians and non-Christians alike believe in situational ethics. “The end justifies the means” seems to be the philosophy of today’s independent Baptist churches. God, on the other hand, has always been the God of moral absolutes. Is nudity before the opposite gender a sin? Well if it is, then it must always be a sin, whether at an xxx theater, a swimming pool, or in a doctor’s office. In the Bible, the only nakedness allowable between a man and a woman is between husband and wife. Genesis 2:25 reads, “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Within the confines of marriage nakedness is totally permissible. However, in Leviticus 18, God goes into great detail condemning nakedness between brother and sister, father and daughter, mother and son, aunt and nephew, uncle and niece, grandfather and granddaughter, and the list goes on and on. God also admonishes us repeatedly throughout the Bible to be fully clothed. Nakedness in the Bible is associated with the word “shame.” One of the many examples of this association is found in Isaiah 47:3a, “Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen:” as well as in Revelation 3:18 (above). Exodus 28:42 reads, “And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach.” God is commanding here for a man to wear pants or shorts that cover his entire thigh (down to the knee) in order not to be naked. Isaiah 47:2-3 reads, “Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.” God shows us again here, in this case with a woman, that the thigh being uncovered is considered nakedness by God. Repeatedly throughout the New Testament, God commands women to be clothed in modest apparel because nakedness is undoubtedly a sin. 2. Are male obstetricians or gynecologists condoned in the Bible? Given that nudity before a person of the opposite gender is a sin, why is it a commonly accepted practice among Baptists and others for a woman to be naked and examined by a male doctor? This most disgusting practice is totally unfounded in God’s word. OB/GYN’s (doctors of pregnancy and women’s health) are considered somehow immune from the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes. If God is so against nudity between members of the opposite gender, why would he allow a man called a doctor to examine a woman’s naked body throughout her pregnancy and up to the birth as if he were somehow immune from sin or God’s laws? Throughout the Bible, women who are pregnant or giving birth are attended by “nurses” or “midwives.” Not one time in God’s word is there mention of a woman being examined nude by a man who is a medical professional. God intended women to assist other women with these types of medical issues. Women have been giving birth to children for the last 6,000 years without the aid of male doctors, and yet Christians today seem to think that a woman must expose herself to a male doctor in the name of medicine. This is totally ridiculous and contrary to God’s word. Many have used the argument, “Oh, they’ve seen it so many times; it no longer affects them.” This is exactly the opposite of reality. Men who look at nudity and pornography for extended periods become more perverted, not less perverted. If the appetite for nudity is fed, the appetite increases not diminishes. Others have used the argument, “Oh, my gynecologist is a nice elderly man. He isn’t thinking any dirty thoughts.” That old man was once a young man who decided to go to school to be an obstetrician/gynecologist in order to examine women in intimate areas. We have strained at the gnat of women giving birth with the help of experienced women or midwives, and we have swallowed the camel of godly, Christian women exposing themselves to a strange man in a doctor’s office. God help us! Independent, fundamental Baptist preachers stand up in pulpits across America and breathe fire about mixed swimming, immodest clothing, nudity on television, dancing, mini-skirts, etc., as they should, but why don’t they have the morals or courage to condemn this practice which is more revealing and more wicked than any of the others mentioned?! 3. Are male gynecologists professionals or perverts? Jeremiah 17:9 reads, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” What kind of a man would go into a profession of examining women’s private parts? Don’t tell me that he is not made of the same sinful flesh that every other man is made of. No man can look at pornographic images and not be affected. This is why God commands us repeatedly to set no wicked thing before our eyes. Because of years and years of looking at and touching scores of women inappropriately, the male gynecologist no doubt has a seared conscience and a perverted mind (I will not go into detail of what goes on in the doctor’s office for decency’s sake, but any woman who has been there knows what I am referring to.). His view of women and the marital bed has certainly been warped by his indecent involvement with countless women. May God help preachers in this generation to make the Bible their authority, not tradition, and call this ungodly practice what it really is – sin. Any doctor that looks upon and touches a woman’s private parts in his office “hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Sir, if you let your wife go to a male gynecologist, you need to get right with God. [collapse] Several years later, in April 2009, he preached a sermon called “Physicians of no value” (which also goes by the title “suffering many things of many physicians” where he mentioned the article, and made some other key statements. Click below to read a transcript of the key portion of the message. Physicians of No Value I am old school, old fashioned traditional, all the way across the board. And when I make a health care decision I don’t go with all this modern stuff. I don’t… do you think I am going to let a male gynecologist look at my wife? You are crazy. You are nuts. I have been accused. I have gotten more flack about that. I have an essay about that on my website, “What is wrong with male gynecologists?” I have gotten more hate mail. I have gotten more flack. I have had people write me. I have had pastors write me and say, “It is the stupidest thing I have ever read in my life. You are an idiot. You are the Taliban. You are Osama Bin Laden,” as I have been called. I say, “Hey, listen to me. No man is going to look at my wife nude. You’re nuts.” That’s what I say to them. “You are crazy.” You know, I get out the phone book. When people talk to me about this I get out the phone book. I look it up, gynecologist. It is like 75% men. I hope up the Heath Valley Dex Yellow pages. Adam, Mark, James, Scott, James…and do you know what? These guys are God men. They don’t think dirty thoughts when they look at my wife nude. You believe…you expect me to believe that, my friend? And you say, “Pastor Anderson, I can’t believe you are talking about this in the pulpit.” Hey, I can’t believe that 99% of the men in the pulpit in America, this is the reality of their life. This is where their wife goes. That is what I can’t believe, my friend. Do you think that Scott and James and Stephen and Joseph and Bruce are going to come anywhere near my wife? You are nuts. Do you think Ernesto, Robert, Paul, Michael, Jeffrey, Brock, Stephen, Brian, Joseph, Stephen, Robert, Paul, Bruce, Jamal, Raoul, Gerald, Daniel…? Hey, my friends. This is my wife and God said the man and his wife were both naked and they were not ashamed. And the Bible says that nudity is a sin and when you step inside of a doctor’s office, nudity is still a sin, my friends. It is still a sin. Yes, it is still a sin. I don’t believe in situational ethics. Not until the 20th century in the United States of America was that considered normal that a male medical professional would examine a nude woman. It is filthy. It is ungodly. It is hell. It is more ungodly than Playboy and Penthouse all put together. It is filthy and ungodly. I am going to preach against…I don’t care. Send me another hate mail. Hey, anybody out there hearing this. Can you hear me across the street? Hey, send me another one. I’ll pin it up on the wall. I will wall paper my bathroom with this and say, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.” Because I am going to tell you something, I am going to stand for God and be old fashioned no matter what it is. I don’t care what anybody says. I don’t care if anybody thinks that it is right. Nobody is going to look at my wife. And do you know what? I remember when I was a younger man. And I am still very young, but when I was even younger I talked to some of my friends that were my age in their late teens, early 20s who were thinking about marriage, some of them, maybe even just gotten married. Some were more engaged. Some of them were just getting into these things just like I was at the time. And I took them aside and said…you know, I am talking about five, six years ago. I took them aside and I said, “Let me tell you something.” I said, “I am going to tell you something right now.” I said, I am going to say, “You know what? When I got married and my wife was going to the doctor for the first time because she was going to have a baby,” because we had our first babies in the hospital, OB-GYN and everything. And I opened up the list. I said, “There is no way in the world that she is going to a man.” That is what I told them. And I said, “Listen to me.” I said, “Is it is right for a woman to be nude in front of another man?” I mean I am talking about somebody’s wife to be nude in front of another man. They said, “No.” I said, “Why would that be allowed.” I said, “Would you be able to do that job every day and keep a clean mind?” And they said, “No.” I said, “Well, neither would I.” I am not going to lie to you. I am not going to lie to you. Hey, it is the truth. It is what God says. It is what the Bible says. And I said, “Do you think that that man is a god man to where he can do it and keep a clean mind all day.” And they said, “No way. There is no way.” They grew up in the locker room like I did. They heard all the filthy perverts that are there in the public school, in the Christian school. They know what people are really like. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” And even a born again fundamental Baptist couldn’t do it and he is not a pervert or anything, I mean, he is just honestly admitting, you know, I couldn’t just look at that all day and not think anything bad. He is just being real. Let alone Jamal, let alone Raoul. Let alone Ernesto and Bruce. They are not fundamental Baptists. They don’t believe the Bible. They don’t even believe that there is a God. They don’t go to this church. They don’t go to any church. They go to the church of Charles Darwin. They go the church of you are animal. That is what they go to. That is their church. That is where they go on Sunday. And I am going to tell you something. They are not thinking clean thoughts. They are dirty. And I can tell you about people that I know in my own extended family. I can tell you about people that I talk to you that have told me, ladies that have told me that they have been violated in a doctor’s office by one of these male gynecologists, perverts, perverts. Every single one is a pervert. Well, what about this independent, fundamental Baptist? Yes, he is a pervert. Yes, he is a pervert. Yes, he is a pervert. I wish I could remember the names of all of the. I would give them to you. I will tell you where they go to church, churches that I have been in, these male gynecologist perverts, perverts. Yes, they are. I am going to tell you something. If you think that a man can transcend that… You say, “Well, he looks at it all day.’ Ok, well, then look at pornography all day, brother Dave, and you’ll never think a dirty thought again. Are these people nuts? It is the vaccine mentality, right? Let’s just inoculate them. Let’s just show him enough and then you will never think a bad thought again. Oh, really, well this doctor has been looking at it his whole life. I bet his mind is as pure as the driven snow. You are nuts. You are crazy. You are out of your mind. I am not the Taliban. You belong in a straight jacket if you think that that guy is not thinking bad thoughts. “Yeah, well, he is a nice old man. He has been doing it for 50 years.” What was he thinking in college? [collapse] Anderson likens gynecology to pornography and says that all male gynecologists are perverts. More recently in 2014, Anderson once again mentioned his beliefs in a sermon on Mark 2. Post Author: Joshua Lindsey My name is Joshua Lindsey. I live in Minnesota, and with my wife and children am a faithful member of my local independent Baptist Church. I have taught Sunday School classes and children’s classes, and also had the opportunity to preach at several churches. I teach Bible college classes on the Pentateuch, Atheism and Faith, Chrsitian Denominations, Bible Preservation (A defense of the underlying texts of the KJV), Bible Geography and Customs, Church Graphic Design, and some others. My father is an Independent Baptist Pastor in Wisconsin, and I grew up in a home full of love for the Lord. My parents raised me in the Bible, and are faithful to this day in witnessing and discipling. Although I was constantly immersed in biblical teaching and preaching, I did not personally believe in Jesus as described in John 3:16 until my freshman year in Bible college. In the many years since then, I have grown in grace and the Lord has given me opportunity to serve him in ministry. Among other ministries, I run my church’s print shop and participate in door-to-door evangelism. In doctrine, I affirm the truth that has been passed down from church to church since the time of Christ. I affirm the deity of Christ, his death, burial, and bodily resurrection, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, the virgin birth, the inerrancy and infallibility of the scriptures, the inspiration and preservation of the scriptures, the imminent return of Christ and his future literal millennial reign. I accept the canonicity of the 66 books of scripture, I believe that God commands all men to repent, that Christ draws all men to himself, that any person can believe and be saved. I believe salvation cannot be forfeited or taken away. I believe Christ’s command to go to all the world and preach the Gospel is still applicable to us today. I believe in a future literal judgment seat of Christ and a Great white throne judgment. I believe that no person will enter heaven except through Jesus Christ. I reject all false religions: Islam, Judaism, new Age, etc. I reject the teaching that God elects some men to damnation, giving them no chance to be saved. I reject the idea that God did not preserve his words and that recent manuscript discoveries provide us with a more accurate Bible that was not available to past generations of Christians. I reject the concept of a universal church. I reject the idea that Baptism plays a part in salvation. I believe many things additionally not listed here. My views align with the scripture and with the beliefs that faithful churches have held since the time of Christ, and have held under the title of “Baptist” for many centuries now.
